When people think of Uruguay, one of the first images that comes to mind is the sizzling parrilla—a quintessential staple of the nation’s culinary identity. Uruguay is renowned as a beef capital, with asado (barbecue) taking center stage.

We spent the first day of Heritage Weekend 2024 exploring Montevideo, from old busses and club houses in Centro to the tip of the city and its lighthouse. Day 2 we celebrated the year's theme and toured Montevidean vineyards.
