Our second year celebrating Uruguayan heritage, with more experience, great weather, and a theme we couldn't ignore: Wine!
Day 1: Sites Around Montevideo
We spent Saturday exploring sites in the city followed by a joyous sunset with Marjorie and Gus where we challenged ourselves to only speak in our native tongues while listening and responding to each others'—a good test of language and friendship.
Day 2: Exploring the outskirts of Montevideo and its vineyards
The theme of El Día del Patrimonio 2024 was "El vino como tradición: inmigración, trabajo e innovación" and with that, many vineyards across the country had special programming for the weekend, including a few within the department of Montevideo. We sampled some wines, went on a few tours, and enjoyed an afternoon outside of the urban core.
Also at the end of September, beginning of October is Montevideo's international book fair, and Marjorie invited us to a reading organized by the French alliance.
